Caring for your charm bead bracelet.
Gorgeous charm bead bracelets have charmed their way into the lives and outfits of thousands of women, yet thanks to the hundreds of charm bead designs available, every bracelet is completely individual and testimony to the wearer's style and memories.
You've probably discovered that they need regular cleaning. Many charm beads highlight and contrast the etched details of the sterling silver beads with an oxidised finish - darkening those areas. But these same etched areas and the twists of the bracelets threads can trap dirt, make-up and skin creams.
- We would strongly advise against using a liquid silver polish, paste or dip
These use very strong chemicals and would remove much of the oxidized detail. The safest and cheapest way to clean your charm bead bracelet is to fill a dish with warm soapy water (like dishwashing liquid), dunk the charm bead bracelet & charms into the water and with an old soft toothbrush give the extra dirty parts a light scrub. Swirl or let them soak for a few minutes, then rinse in cold water & dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. - Also there are many safe soft jewellery cleaning cloths on the market
Which are ideal for buffing the silver on your charm bead bracelet & charms to a nice shine. - Wherever possible, try not to clean them in the sink itself
Hard ceramic surfaces are usually deadly to the Murano glass beads and Murphy's Law dictates that dropped charm beads always roll towards the drain. - The charm bead bracelets and charm beads are relatively quite strong but they can break with high force
We do not recommend you wear them swimming, during sports, gardening, or using household cleaners. Chlorines, bleaches etc can easily tarnish the precious metal and loosen any glue used to set gemstones.
